Wheat, barley, grape (wine), fig, pomegranates, olive (oil) and date (silan) are
the seven species mentioned as being distinctive and characteristic to Eretz
Yisrael. Now, entering the Rosh Hashanah cooking season, we will learn to
utilize these fabulous superfoods in our menu planning and preparation. This
has been made even easier by the fact that these foods have become very
trendy over the last decade or so. Here in Israel, we get to use them in
season, fresh from the market.
With your help, I will demonstrate the creation of a full meal, (see menu
below) Participants will receive all the recipes with all relevant shortcuts and
tips.
We will prepare the following dishes:
 Rosh Hashanah Challah
 Pomegranate Glazed Salmon
 Festive Brisket with Silan and Wine
 Fresh Shivat Haminim salad with salted honeyed pecans
 Apple Filo pockets
Finally we will design a festive table setting together, toast to תשפ"ג and enjoy
samples of our festive meal
